Union hail young coaches

THE Soccer Coaches Union of Zimbabwe have hailed the young crop of coaches who have taken the Castle Lager Premiership by storm and have led their clubs into pole position in the championship race.

Norman Mapeza of FC Platinum and CAPS United’s Lloyd Chitembwe have propelled their clubs into the lead in the race for the league title.

Tonderai Ndiraya is making a big difference at Ngezi Platinum, unbeaten since he took over a team that was very low on morale, while Never Malunga (Border Strikers), Lizwe Sweswe(Tsholotsho), Taku Shariwa (Mutare City) and Kelvin Kaindu of How Mine are also making an impression.

“It’s very good for our football to see young coaches doing very well for their teams. They are into coach education and they are working towards attaining highest badges,” SCUZ said.

“Coaches have to be scientific and gone are the days where one would base his coaching on external forces (juju).

“We urge the young coaches to do more and attend international courses.

“Football has become dynamic. “

Bekimpilo Nyoni, the chairman of the Zimbabwe Soccer Coaches Association, has also added his voice.

“The young coaches are eager to learn new things and they work according to the book. They have a lot to prove and they work so hard and their players respond without a problem.
