LOCAL manufacturer United Refineries has resolved to temporarily close its offices across the country after a number of its staff members tested positive for the Covid-19 pandemic.
In a statement, the company informed its key stakeholders of the need to shut down their offices so as to manage the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the country and stem possible infection of staff members and customers.
“We would like to inform our valued stakeholders that due to Covid-19 protocols, our sales and dispatch departments have been temporarily shut down. This will regrettably affect collections and deliveries,” reads the statement.
The company revealed that several members of staff tested positive for the pandemic and those who tested positive are already self-quarantining according to the World Health Organisation (WHO) and Ministry of Health and Child Care stipulated guidelines.
“As always, the health, safety and wellbeing of the public and our employees is our number one priority. We encourage the public to continue wearing masks, sanitising hands regularly and practicing social distancing,” the company said.
