ZANU-PF Manicaland provincial chairman, Cde Tawanda Mukodza, has urged members to be disciplined and united, while standing firm on their word to ensure an emphatic victory for the revolutionary party in the 2023 harmonised elections.

Addressing party cadres who attended a Mutare District inter-district meeting in Mutare last week on Saturday, Cde Mukodza said members should uphold the party’s principles, while respecting its code of conduct to avoid being found on the wrong side.

He said in order to win the upcoming harmonised elections, there is need to focus more on strengthening party cells and recruiting new members.

He urged members to spread the good news of the development work being spearheaded across the country by the steward leadership of President Mnangagwa.

“Let us focus on strengthening the party cells. They should be our hunting ground as we scout for new members. When you go out there, preach the gospel of leaving no one and no place behind as we march towards attaining Vision 2030.

“Let us welcome new members into the party and not turn them away because they are important in getting us the numbers that we want, come the 2023 harmonised elections. If done properly, we will surely get more than the anticipated five million votes next year,” he said.

Cde Mukodza said ZANU PF will regain all lost seats in Mutare District if members remain disciplined.

“For us to regain all lost seats, we need to work together as a united front. We are now aware of the opposition tactics to hoodwink the urban vote, but we will be equal to the task. We should not de-campaign each other and shun the bhora musango syndrome. We should also get tips from the likes of Mutasa South legislator, Cde Misheck Mugadza on the tactics he used to wrestle the seat from Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) during the March 26 by-elections.

“We want to do away with incompetent leaders running the affairs of urban councils. We will show them that ZANU PF is still very much alive and commands a lot of support even in their perceived urban strongholds,” said Cde Mukodza.

ZANU PF Manicaland was holding inter-district meetings across the province from last week on Thursday until on Monday this week.

Speaking at the same event, the provincial commissar, Cde Albert Nyakuedzwa urged economic development groups affiliated to the party to continue mobilising more members and supporting the party.

Dubbed Teachers4ED, Vapostori4ED, Doctors4ED, Vendors4ED, Young Women 4ED and many others, the affiliates are mostly groups of like-minded people who support the same cause of economic development in Zimbabwe.

Cde Nyakuedzwa said with such affiliates rallying behind ZANU PF, the party will win the 2023 harmonised elections.

Cde Nyakuedzwa said the numerous affiliates should continue to campaign for the party, while rallying behind economic development.

“We urge our affiliates to be loyal to the party and campaign for ZANU PF victory. Do not be greedy, and do not use the affiliates for self enrichment and corruption.

“We believe through the sprouting up of affiliates, our vision of garnering five million plus votes will be achieved.

‘‘President Mnangagwa is a tried and tested leader who wants the economic development of this great country,” said Cde Nyakuedzwa.
