gig held at Zishiri Farm over the weekend.
Although this was the group’s maiden performance at the venue, the turnout was overwhelming to the extent that owners of the farm had to give another slot to Bambo Tapomwa at a date to be announced.
Close to 500 people attended the show while scores of others could not make their way into the packed venue where the group that comprises fiery bass guitarist Nasho Azati, jammed throughout the night.
The group also took the opportunity to sample new songs from their yet-to-be released album, “Tirikupfuurira Mberi”, which will be released once they have finished working on it.
Their state-of-the-art equipment made the job easier for them as their sound came out perfectly well.
From Zishiri Farm, the group headed to Extra Mile Leisure Centre in Harare the following day for a successful family show which was nearly disrupted by the rains that pounded that area for the better part of Sunday.
It was a typical laid-back afternoon for families who attended the show as Unity Stars showcased their diverse talents by playing jazz and sungura which appealed to the audience, who had come out in droves to make merry as they braaied and drank while the kids enjoyed an array of games.
“We are taking our music around Zimbabwe and our fans should expect us in their backyard very soon,” Bambo Tapomwa said.
