ZANU PF Youth Secretary and Politburo member, Cde Tinoda Machakaire, has issued a strong call for unity and discipline among party members and supporters, saying solidarity is crucial for the party’s strength and resilience.
Cde Machakaire made these remarks while addressing the Zanu-PF Mashonaland East Provincial Co-ordinating Committee meeting held at the party’s provincial offices in Marondera on Sunday.
The meeting, attended by provincial chairman Cde Daniel Garwe and other senior provincial executives, focused on key issues, including the implementation of resolutions from the Annual National People’s Conference in Bulawayo last year.
Among these resolutions was the endorsement of President Mnangagwa’s continued leadership beyond 2028.
Other topics discussed included social media challenges, cell verification, and strategies to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures.
In his address, Cde Machakaire said there is need for discipline, respect, and loyalty within the party, urging members to remain united and committed to the party’s ideals.
“We gather here to address the unapologetic need for continued unity at all levels of the party, from the cells to the villages,” he said. “President Mnangagwa and the entire leadership urge us to serve the party selflessly, with unwavering consistency, discipline, and loyalty. Unity is the only way we can fulfil our plans and tackle the major tasks ahead.”
Cde Machakaire said since its formation, Zanu PF has always been resilient, attributing its strength to strong leadership, grassroots support, and adaptability.
He cautioned against rogue elements within the party who collude with detractors to sow divisions, particularly through social media.
“We cannot afford the luxury of indiscipline,” Cde Machakaire said.
