Unleash the designer in you!

creative bubble shine!

Cool Lifestyle’s cool colleague, Gtel, this week took the time to address some of the concerns that have been pouring in about the Mascot competition and we hope the answers will shed more light on the competition.

The sales and marketing assistant, Pfumisai Ratsauka, highlighted the issue on most of the older teens’ minds of the age restriction among others. In our last week’s edition, some of the rules to the competition stipulated entries are for the ages below 16.
As much as we have love for all teens including the ones above 16, we urge them to hang in there because more is coming.

“We thank you guys for the positive response that you have given us so far. The designs that are coming in are spectacular and demonstrate that participants are putting their minds to work.
“However, to put to rest the issue on age, not all our competitions are limited to the younger guys. All of you can be assured that Gtel is going to bring in more opportunities to give the older teens a chance to showcase their talents and win prizes for it,” she said.

Ratsauka pointed out other Gtel competitions that have been made in the past, including the Gtel Face of Zimbabwe from last year that saw former Miss Teen Nadine Hahn scooping the title. As usual, the mobile company had great prizes for her.

Bottom line guys, do not despair, more is coming for the rest of the age groups. All you have to do is keep your eyes glued to the paper for more opportunities.
Like she said, the children’s participation in the information communication technology is important in this world we are living in. Did you know that soon, we might just find ourselves in an automated world where computers will be dominating?

“Technology is now a major part of our lives and as an ICT company, we feel the need for children to be well versed in it hence initiatives to get them involved in our innovations.
“Gone are the days when technology was a thing for the First World countries. All children have to keep up with the trends and grasp the concept of ‘e-learning’ now,” she said.
Like we always say, technology is not only for fun and games but one can exploit it for educative and informative elements.

Ratsauka also encouraged teens to do more educational research on smartphones other than “whatsapping, tweeting and facebooking”.
“You can do almost anything with technology these days, so there is no need to imagine anymore. For example, young people will soon be able to access the new constitution on their mobiles, thanks to a mobile application that is going to be available on our mobile phones. This is our form of urging them to be well versed with current issues that affect them. Teens need free access to information for personal development,” said Ratsauka.

Since the mascot competition is still on, Cool Lifestyle tried to persuade the sales assistant to dish out tips for our lucky readers to increase the chances of winning. Although the tough cookie chose to be tight lipped in the spirit of fairness she did, however, let one or two things slip.
“The terms and conditions of the competition definitely apply but it is important to show an aspect of embracing technology in the mascot designs.

“Teens should also incorporate our corporate colours and be as creative and original as possible. All designs will be verified so do not use that phone to ‘google’ designs,” she said.
Other children from other parts of the country are also advised to take part as it is a competition for every child. If you are in Mutare,

Masvingo, Bulawayo Gweru and other places, once you have come up with your designs, you can also send them straight to Gtel offices near you.
Since it is also a technological world, one can visit the Gtel website to see how they may participate from wherever they are!
