Mr Murendo sentenced Murambatsvina to one year in prison for the first count and two years for the second count.
In addition, Murambatsvina shall not drive any vehicle for the next three years.
Prosecutor Mr Edmond Ndambakuwa proved that on February 7 this year, Murambatsvina was driving a Toyota Hiace plying the Chikwanha-Makoni route along old Seke Road.
While driving, he failed to observe the stop sign and proceeded resulting in a collision with a Mazda Swaraj minibus with 50 passengers on board.
Eight of the passengers in his vehicle escaped with serious injuries and were admitted at Chitungwiza Central Hospital where they were treated and later discharged.
