WITH festive season fever gradually engrossing every human being across the world, renowned artistes have released electric and scintillating hits expected to grace the holidays.

There are several hits that are making waves on radio and are also making people hit the dance floor in bars, night clubs and social gatherings. Sunday Life compiled a mouth-watering 10 hits that have won public support and are on everyone’s playlist at the moment.

Distraction Boyz’s Omunye hit will definitely drive people wild this festive season particularly at the City of Kings and Queen.

The South African duo stormed Bulawayo’s Club Connect with their glamming song recently, and people have failed to get the song out of their heads.

It’s controversial lyrics Omunye Phezu Komunye and its well thumping sound makes people go down rocking the dance floor.

Jah Prayzah’s Kutonga Kwaro hit has previously been scrutinised to have political connotations which saw his music career in Zimbabwe threatened.

Well, the political discourses that have headlined news recently and the stepping down of Cde Robert Mugabe as the president of Zimbabwe has seen Kutonga Kwaro topping charts. It seems The Musoja as he is popularly known among fans, has once again proved that he is the most creative, successful and loved musician in the country.

Perhaps to reinforce that point, My Lily hit maker has teamed up with global superstars which include the likes of Davido and Diamond Platinumz, in producing spectacular duets. One of his projects, Nziyo Yerudo hit with Nigerian queen of music Yemi Alade deservedly makes it to the list.

Majority of youths mostly from universities and high schools brilliantly memorised the lyrics of the song within weeks of its release. In the song, the dreadlocked giant speaks about loving Yemi Alade, a gorgeous woman he first heard on radio. Maybe that is a key factor among youth liking the song as it talks about love.

Akanamali by South African duo Sun El-Musician feat Samthing Soweto has won married couples’ hearts in the City of Kings, and is likely to grace weddings with its sweet lyrics that talks about marrying a woman in December despite being broke.

Well, December is the month of weddings; hundreds of weddings are recorded across the country during every festive season and Akanamali seems to be the perfect hit to enlighten those celebrations.

Prolific dancehall star, Winky D, yet again proved why he is regarded the dancehall gaffer when he teamed up with Jamaican mogul, Beenie Man. Together, the two released a blockbuster hit titled My Woman which is very much designed for urban groove.

The splendid song is another track which is gradually winning public support; even a toddler can tell the song will mesmerise people this December.

Nhema by ExQ cannot be left out on the list. Released as a response to allegations made by Olinda Chapel on one of her rants aimed at Stunner, the hit track has received national recognition. The song has enjoyed a breathtaking 900 000 views on Youtube at a country were the usual maximum views per song is 20 000.

After having a quiet year in the industry, Bulawayo pop star, Mzoe7 released a promising hit titled Babes Wemonthend which has very much attracted a lot of people in Bulawayo. The song which advises people to be weary of gold diggers is gradually being loved by men who have since misinterpreted the song as directed to prostitutes.

DJ Tira’s Malume hit featuring Tipcee and Joejo makes it to the list. The song is a hit among Bulawayo resident and DJ Tira and Tipcee’s visit at Club Connect might have facilitated that.

Tira left fans wowed at the City of Kings, with some urging the house sensation to revisit Zimbabwe soon.

Dancing queen, Babes Wodumo and her Big Nuz boyfriend Mapintsha yet again proved that they are two sides of the same coin by releasing a thumping hit which has raised eyebrows. Titled Jiva Phez’kombhede, the track is already making waves on air. It’s not surprising that three South African hits makes it to the list as Mzansi music is very popular and followed by majority of people in Bulawayo.

Last but not least, Ammara Brown’s Akiliz song makes it to the top 10. Based on real life experiences the song speaks about a person who is taken advantage of, in an abusive relationship. The hit has so far won women’s hearts with its strong message of gender based abuse. And deservedly makes it to the mouth-watering festive season hits.
