A woman from Bulawayo’s Makokoba suburb took her son to court for allegedly disturbing her at night by sleeping with his girlfriends in the living room and making noise.

Thembelihle Dube stated that her son, Jason Dube, disrespects her by bringing different women to their home at night and engaging in sexual activities with them in the living room.

She further stated that during these encounters, they make noise, disturbing her sleep.

Dube said she has tried on several occasions to talk to her son, but her efforts have only resulted in his anger.

He allegedly shouts at her and threatens to beat her up.

“Your worship, Jason is my son. I have a problem with him because he brings ladies of the night to my house and sleeps with them in the living room. They make noise, and sadly, I have tried to talk to him on several occasions, but he does not listen.

Instead, he insults me and rants, saying the house belonged to his late father.

I am worried that he will end up assaulting me. I pray that this honourable court will grant me a protection order,” her affidavit read in part.

Jason took the stand and said, “The problem started when my mother caught me sleeping with my girlfriend in the living room. After that, she shouted at me, saying I disrespected her, and she even tried to throw me out of the house.

“Now, I am looking for work, and when I find a job, I will leave.”

The presiding magistrate, Challenge Mahembe, granted Dube a protection order.

Jason was prohibited from verbally and emotionally abusing his mother.

The order is valid for 12 months.
