Unrepentant ex-convict up for murder

A 30-year-old man from Amaveni, Kwekwe, who fatally stabbed a fellow patron barely three days after being released from jail, has appeared before a Kwekwe magistrate facing murder charges.

Ntokozo Ncube of Amaveni was not asked to plead when he appeared before magistrate, Mr Storey Rushambwa.

He was remanded in custody to March 23 and was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.

The State case against Ncube is that on March 7, he was drinking beer at a night club in Amaveni in the company of the now deceased, Mr Simbarashe Ruvingo (28).

The court heard that as they were drinking, Ncube suddenly waved a knife intending to stab Mr Ruvingo, and eventually did so on the collar bone and immediately went out of the night club, the court heard. Mr Ruvingo and other revellers followed him outside to inquire the source of the rage, but he took a cab and fled. — Herald Reporter.
