A CITY woman is at odds with her ex-husband, who has been tormenting her by demanding a reconciliation.
Silvia Nyadzame took her ex-husband, Charles Huku to court, seeking a peace order.
Silvia accused Charles of physical and verbal abuse.
Presiding magistrate, Tamara Chibindi, granted Silvia a peace order.
She ordered Charles to stop harassing, intimidating and visiting Silvia.
During the court hearing, Silvia said:
“He is my ex-husband and he wants us to reconcile.
“He has a tendency of coming to my place of residence around midnight to assault me.
“He insults me with obscenities in front of people.
“Whenever we meet in public, he always insults and beats me up.
“My children stay with my parents, but he always goes to my parents’ house demanding to see the kids.
“Last month he came to apologise and asked that we reconcile and I agreed.
“Afterwards, he started misbehaving and I then decided to leave him.”
In response, Charles disputed the allegations.
“Your worship, don’t grant Nyadzame’s application for a peace order because it may cost my life in the near future.
“I love my wife, but she is running away from me.
“That is why she wants the court to intervene so that she can sue me.
“I have never abused my wife, but I want her back. I love my family,” said Charles.
