Unstoppable! Dorcas Moyo honoured with five award nominations for excellence

2024 has been a remarkable year for gospel sensation Dorcas Moyo, who has garnered five award nominations across multiple platforms, cementing her position as one of Zimbabwe’s most influential gospel artistes.

Moyo’s nominations include three in the inaugural Zimbabwe Gospel Music Awards (ZGMA), recognising her excellence in the Best Song category for her hit track Ndinokutungamirira, the Best Video category for the visuals of Zvotoparadzana, and Best Female Artiste.

In addition to the ZGMA, Moyo has also received recognition from the Zimbabwe Institute of Strategic Thinking (ZIST) and the Iconic and Pace Setter Awards.

In a letter obtained by Chronicle Showbiz, ZIST described Moyo as a visionary artiste making significant contributions to Zimbabwe’s development.

“This letter serves to confirm that Dorcas Moyo will receive recognition during the ZIST Annual Nyanga 2024 Conference in the area of Outstanding Artiste. This gesture celebrates her visionary approach towards national development and her consistency as a rising market leader in music,” said ZIST chief executive officer Dr Tinashe Eric Muzamhindo said.

The award will be presented on Thursday during a cocktail event hosted by leading businesses and executives, during which Moyo’s achievements will be highlighted publicly.

Meanwhile, the Iconic and Pace Setter Awards also commended her trailblazing success.

“Your exceptional leadership and accomplishments have earned you a nomination for the Iconic and Pace Setter Awards. This honour recognises outstanding achievers shaping Zimbabwe’s future through innovation, excellence, and community impact,” read part of the invitation letter.

The awards ceremony will be held on December 5, 2024, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Harare.

Speaking to Chronicle Showbiz, Moyo expressed her gratitude for the recognition.

“The mere nomination for any award, however small, is exhilarating. It’s a testimony that my work is not going unnoticed. These nominations push me to continue striving for excellence and to provide my supporters with music that uplifts and inspires,” she said.

She humbly credited her success to divine intervention.

“While I’ve worked hard, it’s ultimately God who makes all things possible. Whether or not I win, I’m confident that everything happens in God’s perfect timing,” she added.

With these accolades, Dorcas Moyo continues to inspire through her music and commitment to excellence, proving that she is indeed nstoppable.
