spokesperson Mr Alson Darikayi.
Upfumi Kuvadiki secretary-general Mr Tatenda Maroodza and his group arrived when Darikayi was in the middle of his address and stopped proceedings.
Mr Maroodza said the media briefing was illegal since no member of the national executive knew about it. He said Mr Darikayi was moving around the country “masquerading” as the organisation’s leader.
“This briefing should end here because the Upfumi Kudiki executive doesn’t know anything about it,” he said.
“We do not even know the names of the people addressing you (journalists) except Darikayi whom we dismissed a few months ago.
“We hear that he is going around the country’s provinces addressing youths claiming to be the organisation’s chairman and this is unacceptable. To make matters worse he is claiming to be the chairman and that post does not exist in the organisation”
He accused Mr Darikayi of causing despondency in the organisation.
“He is one man we booted out because of indiscipline and he is now trying to fuel divisions in the organisation,” he said.
