Urban groover turns to gospel music

Kadoma-based musician, Gabriel Gwini (popularly known as Seku B), who was part of the urban grooves wave a few years ago, has turned to gospel music.

The 32-year-old musician was popular in the urban grooves music circles for his hit song “Ndakakusarudza”, which topped national radio stations during the hey days of urban grooves.

His change of heart has resulted in an eight-track gospel album titled “I am Saved” that was released recently.

The album features a number of gospel artistes including the charismatic pastor, Aaron Rusike from the Seventh Day Adventist church.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment , Gwini highlighted that although he is now into gospel music, he is still determined to work with other artistes as he remains a music producer.

“I have released my album ‘I Am Saved’ which is a gospel album as I seek to fulfil my duty as a community peer educator and my obligation as a believer to preach through music.

“During my time as both musician and producer, I have come to realise that God gave us a duty to preach His word to others so I am entitled to use my talent to disseminate the word of God.

“Furthermore, I would like to show my gratitude to Pastor Aaron Rusike for his motivation both spiritually and musically,” he said.

Gwini’s gospel album is filled with a rare voice projection flavour and spiritual inspiration.

Tracks like “Friend Indeed” and “If Today Was Your Last Day” really show Gwini’s talent as smooth flowing lyrics are mixed with genuine emotion that tear straight into the listener’s heart.
