US$23 000 shot in the arm for centre

disabled members.
ZNA spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Alphios Makotore said the cash injection has come at the right time.
“The rehabilitation centre is struggling to render acceptable occupational physiotherapy to disabled people owing to lack of adequate gym equipment and unserviceable water pump for the hydrotherapy pool.
“The funds are going to bring the facility to function,” he said.
The centre runs other projects in vocational skills training as a way of boosting income and complementing donors and other well wishers.
To date the centre runs a thriving carpentry project that produces furniture goods for the rehabilitation centre.
However, the fishery project continues to be affected by the lack of funds to renovate the dilapidated fishponds.
Tsanga Lodge Board of Trustees expressed great appreciation to individuals and corporate bodies that have donated generously to the centre.
The centre, however, continues to face critical shortage of rehabilitation technicians, accommodation for married staff members and a vehicle to ferry disabled people.
Over the past years, donors have contributed significantly in cash and kind to the centre.
The centre which is registered with the Zimbabwe Association for People Living with Disabilities accommodates members of the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the Zimbabwe Prison Services and other members from the security forces.
There are currently 32 disabled people at the centre.
