Detectives from the Police CID Homicide Section have recovered property worth more than US$25 000 following the arrest of 10 suspected robbers who used commuter omnibuses to prey on the public.
Acting CID spokesperson Detective Assistant Inspector Portia Chinho yesterday said people who lost their valuables should visit Harare Central Police Station Homicide offices to see if any of their property had been recovered.
She said the suspected robbers were arrested last week following a high-speed chase in Budiriro 2.
Recovered valuables include laptop computers, cellphones, clothing and bags. Police are still looking for another gang comprising men and women believed to be using kombis to rob people.
Det Asst Isnp Chinho said since January, the police had arrested 20 suspects who have all appeared in court on robbery charges.
The robbers mainly used vehicles like Toyota Hiaces and Nissan Caravans in committing the crimes.
They posed as public transporters and robbed unsuspecting commuters who boarded their vehicles.
