“If we are to get more money we will have more teams on the ground for the mobile voter registration.
“I cannot give you an exact budget but we need at least US$25 million so that we conduct a comprehensive mobile voter registration exercise,” he said.
He said the voter registration process was on going and there was no reason for people to wait for registration during elections only.

He said the voter registration process was too demanding as it involved a lot of issues like transfers, data capturing and updating of the voters’ roll among other pressing issues.
Cde Mohadi said despite facing a challenge in terms of resources, Government was mobilising funds to ensure that harmonised elections are held on June 29.
“Government is seized with the issue of voter registration. We are hopeful that the Treasury will avail funds soon,” said Cde Mohadi.
It is also reported that the mobile voter registration teams failed to reach to all key points in Matabeleland South province due to lack of resources.
Zanu-PF Matabeleland South chairman Cde Andrew Langa said recently that at most the voter registration teams were spending two days per venue, which was too limited for most of the people in the communal areas.
