worth over US$2 000.
Courage Rusike (18) and Blessing Tinashe Magwaza were yesterday arraigned before Harare Magistrate Ms Fadzai Mutavayi to answer to theft charges. She remanded the pair in custody on the grounds that they were of no fixed abode.
Prosecutor Mr Tawanda Zvobgo alleges that on May 6, the pair went to Seventh Day Adventist church in Mabelreign. They allegedly clambered up the roof and removed an asbestos sheet to gain entry into the church. While inside, it is alleged, they stole 62 black plastic chairs, two generators and an amplifier. The following day, a report was made to the police prompting investigations into the break-in. The police recovered four chairs worth US$27 from one Runesu who was in transit to Epworth where he wanted to sell them, the court heard.
