Bulawayo’s fast-rising musician Vele Vele — previously known as Majoer Prodi — has announced himself on the regional scene with a ground-breaking single titled Ayi Dume, which features established musicians from Zimbabwe and South Africa.

The song was produced by Mzansi’s Master KG and Spirit ZW. It features Nutty O, Leon Lee, Caesar, AmaPiano’s finest Lee McKrazy, as well as Mr Brown.

Dropped on 3 October, Ayi Dume has since premiered on Channel O and MTV Base, major platforms that will give significant exposure to Vele Vele and his upcoming music.

Vele Vele, who is signed under Passion Java Records, said the song blends different styles, as each artiste brought their unique vibe. He said they worked together seamlessly, resulting in a rich fusion of dance and African music.

“The foundation of Ayi Dume was created from a bounce of energy in a recording camp alongside Spirit ZW, Leon Lee and Mr Brown. Myself and Leon, we had a sketch of what we envisioned the song to be like. Mr Brown and Spirit ZW then worked some magic into it.

“The whole idea was to create an anthem which will promote good vibes and energy. The sound and style of the composition made it inevitable for all the great artistes to be part of such a great project,” said Vele Vele.

Ayi Dume is an escalation point for Vele Vele, as it is just the beginning of bigger and better things. He said there are more great projects and collaborations on the way that will keep the audience on their feet.
