Vendor arrested for ‘raping’ minor

POLICE in Bulawayo have arrested a 45-year-old man from Nkulumane suburb for allegedly raping a 11-year-old minor.

Mhlomuli Ncube (45), a vendor who operates from Sekusile Shops allegedly raped the minor on December 20.

The victim’s name has been withheld for ethical reasons.

Ncube is said to have sexually attacked the minor after visiting her home.

Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube said Ncube took advantage of the fact that the minor was alone at home when he visited.

“When he arrived at the victim’s place, he found the juvenile alone and started fondling her, pushed her on a sofa and raped her once.

“The suspect threatened to kill the minor if she dared report the rape. After the sexual assault, Ncube collected what he had come for and left.

The complainant reported the rape to one of her relatives leading to Ncube’s arrest.
