Venezuela’s presidential aspirants to conclude campaigns

Capriles on Sunday closed his campaign in Caracas, capital of Venezuela with 1,6 million voters, which takes up 8,4 percent of the total voters. The Venezuelan presidential campaigns will end on October 4 with national vote held three days after.
Both candidates scheduled Thursday to officially conclude their campaigns. Chavez said he would close in Caracas while Capriles in the north Miranda state, where he once served as the governor, and northwest Lara state. As rallies went on, authorities from Venezuela’s National Electoral Council verified 200 voting machines with the collaboration of 600 voters.
“This verification is the most important one before the presidential elections. The Venezuelans who helped were very glad and we thank them for their commitment,” said CNE president Tibisay Lucena to official television Venezolana de Television.
The Integrated System of Authentication, an indivisible device which confirms each citizen by their fingerprints, will be implemented in the election. Lucena rejected versions which criticised the electoral system, adding that the platform was shielded to guarantee secrecy of the voters. — Xinhua.
