In an interview yesterday, Matabeleland North police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Siphiwe Makonese, said Snr Asst Comm Veterai would with immediate effect be working at the administration department of the PGHQ.
“He has swapped places with Snr Asst Comm Norman Sibanda who will be the new officer commanding Matabeleland North,” said Asst Insp Makonese.
She said the province, which flourished under Snr Asst Insp Veterai’s leadership, would throw a party for him next week.
“We want to show our appreciation for his visionary leadership that moulded officers under his jurisdiction to be efficient crime busters,” she said.
Asst Insp Makonese said the province was looking forward to benefiting from the vast experience that would be brought by Snr Asst Comm Sibanda to the province.
Snr Asst Comm Sibanda was once the officer commanding Matabeleland South.
