Vetkuk vs Mahoota expected today

Comprising the dynamic duo of DJ Vetkuk and Mahoota the “Via Orlando” hitmakers are a favourite of many kwaito lovers in Harare.JKudzai “DJ Dee Nosh” Matondo confirmed the group was expected to arrive in Harare today from South Africa.

“We are happy with the preparations and so far it has been good. The guys are coming today and they will have enough time to rest and prepare for the massive show tonight at Circus. There is also going to be music by my partner DJ L Roy and myself in the mix,” he said. Vetkuk and Mahoota exploded on the music scene 11 years ago and have become household names in South Africa and abroad.

DJ Mahoota is the founder member of Trompies, a kwaito group that constantly topped the charts in South Africa.
He is also the partner in the top independent music label Kawala Jazmee Records in Mzansi. The stable houses the likes of Oskido, Boom Shaka, Mafikizolo, Bongo Maffin, Spikiri, Tira, Big Nuz and many more successful acts. Along with Vetkuk, Mahoota forms half of the top duo of Vetkuk vs Mahoota.

The duo has released five successful albums to date. Two of these, Lesedi and Tshiamo, went gold and total sales to date are in excess of 400 000 copies.
Noted for their sophisticated dress style, foot stomping and often sexy hits, Vetkuk vs Mahoota have been riding high for 10 years. Their current hit single, “Bula”, features Thebe.

In addition to producing hot albums, Vetkuk vs Mahoota are a top deejay outfit in great demand. The famous “Mahoota on the right and Vetkuk on the left” combination is constantly on the road, with bookings every week around the entire country. Miami, London, Ibiza and Mauritius are also frequent playing destinations. They are truly an international success!

Mahoota is a co-host and founder of The Spring Day Music Explosion, a 12-show, 10-city music festival that is in its 10th year and features 65 artistes and deejays from both South Africa and abroad. This is a major event on the South African music calendar.
