Vicenzo Valli makes waves

to look hot, simple but at the same time expensive.
Of course, there is only one rule in fashion,  its either you’ve got taste or you don’t!
What is all the more appealing about Vicenzo Valli is that the garments are largely of high quality which makes it compelling for any discerning fashionista to buy their designer clothes without looking at the price tag.
Euston Mabika, the spokesperson for Vicenzo Valli, said there was no need for people to have wardrobe malfunction as they had fashion consultants.
“We do not only dress you well but also tell you how to avoid the fashion police. The fashion consultants are there to assist people in buying what suits them and the right size for any garment,” he said.
Mabika said since the fashion house opened in 2008, it has dressed some of the chief executives, and directors of blue chip companies as well as the rich and famous.
“We started out to fill in the gap on the market which had been flooded by garments from China. So our garments are imported from Europe, which means that we are not lagging behind in world trends but actually moving with the times.
“I remember Pastor Tom Deuschle preaching about being unique. From that sermon we got inspired to bring the latest in Europe to Zimbabwe, making sure there was something unique about our garments which customers cannot find anywhere else. I also believe that the hand of God has made us who we are,” he said.
The fashion house has a wide range of garments for both men and women, be it smart casual or formal wear.
Those who attended the Zimbabwe Fashion Week pre-party held at South African Ambassador Vusi Mavimbela’s residence appreciated the quality as opposed to the quantity of the garments on show.
Much of the collection featured what has become to be known as “colour blocking” where garments of different bright colours are mixed to give that distinctive look.
This was perhaps the essence of Vicenzo Valli’s showcase of how people can actually wear different colours but without committing a fashion crime. Also on show were latest men’s suits, ladies slacks, jackets, as well as accessories such as the handbags and belts.
Over and above this, there were collections by one of South Africa’s top designers, David Tlale, who dressed Zimbabwe’s top model Rozzana Hall at the M-Net Face of Africa held in Nigeria. If Vicenzo Valli is anything to go by then fashion in Zimbabwe has gone a step further and will always be ahead of time when it comes to fashion trends since most of its designs are sourced from Europe.
One could agree that if we could rewind five years, Zimbabweans were stuck in a fashion swampland but today the country’s streets resemble the runways of Milan, Paris and New York.
