Vicious fight over pizza

Coetzer family and Dawie du Toit (53) owner of the Van der Stel Kuierkroeg and Restaurant, reported Beeld.

Du Toit said George Coetzer said there was a mistake on the bill and he wasn’t going to pay it. Du Toit said he sat down next to him to avoid a fuss and told Coetzer to pay the bill or the police would be called. Du Toit said Coetzer twice stood up at the table in a threatening manner and had to be pushed back.

“When I pulled him back the second time, his wife hit me in the face. She was wild and vicious,” said Du Toit.

He said three people were unable to control Mimika Coetzer (33) who was described as “a handful”.
Coetzer denied this and said she and her husband had to endure an assault by Du Toit and his employees in front of their children aged 12 and 14.

“We weren’t satisfied with the food and complained to the waiter. My friend ordered extra chicken for her pizza and it never arrived. The owner came to us and said: ‘You are white trash and I don’t want you here’.”

She said Du Toit hit her husband when they wanted to leave and she had intervened, pulling Du Toit by his shirt away from her husband and Du Toit then allegedly headbutted her and kicked her in the stomach after which she fell on the floor among other tables.

“We were willing to pay the bill, except for the R14 for chicken strips we didn’t get.” Both parties have laid charges of assault with the police. — News24.
