Villagers get solar-powered piped water

Villagers in Mhondoro-Ngezi are benefiting from a unique solar-powered piped water project after Government introduced programmes to ensure that rural areas receive clean and potable water. The solar-powered piped water project was introduced by the Mhondoro-Ngezi Rural District Council in partnership with a non-governmental organisation a few years ago.
It supplies hundreds of villagers with water.

The project also supplies Sable Range Primary School.
Addressing beneficiaries at a District Water, Sanitation and Hygiene meeting in Mhondoro-Ngezi recently, Assistant District Administrator Mr David Gandiwa said there were plans to widen the project to other wards.
