The villagers accused him of diverting community water after he sunk a borehole to cater for his mother’s maize projects, resulting in a community water source drying up.
The local community and a nearby school are reportedly without water as PM Tsvangirai’s borehole is said to be deeper and is diminishing the water table.
Elders in the village described Mr Tsvangirai’s move as cruel.
The local community also accused the premier of not caring for people from his area as he had not bothered even to help the nearby school get electricity.
Ironically, overhead cables which supply power to the PM Tsvangirai’s homestead, pass over a school which has no electricity.
The road to his home also tells its own story of neglect.
Meanwhile, sources said some diplomats had cancelled plans to attend a field day which was supposed to be held at Mr Tsvangirai ‘s homestead today in light of the protests which have rocked the area. — ZBC.
