Following in the footsteps of South African beauty Minnie Dlamini who in the past few years has reinvented herself as a soccer presenter, Zimbabwean model turned TV personality Vimbai Mutinhiri has entered the sports broadcasting fray as part of the Kwese Sports team.
Since the beginning of the year, Mutinhiri has been teasing her move to the new kid on the block in African broadcasting, hinting that she has found a new home in a number of Instagram posts.
Kwese blew the lid on the secret recently however, with adverts announcing that Mutinhiri would be hosting a show called Hashatag, where sports fans would be able to interact with her and other presenters on social media as they dissect the major sport events of the day.
The programme airs every Wednesday at 7.30.
The move is in line with Mutinhirias promise to shift and break barriers this year as she tries to forge ahead with her career.
a?The year 2017 for me is all about embracing new beginnings and allowing people to see a new side of me. I have settled into my radio show on a Nigerian station, Lagos Talks 91.3, on which I have a show called The Dish, a round table of influential females who discuss major issues from the world of entertainment, to empowerment, fashion and beauty,a?A Vimbai told the Sunday Mail earlier this year.
In addition to her radio show and gig on Kwese, Mutinhiri also hosts a travel series which is shown on all South African Airways flights, while she has also hosted numerous shows and ceremonies around Africa. . .
