Vincent stars in Puerto Rico

second year Virginia Tech student could not help his team much as it finished in seventh place out of the 15 that took part in the event. Vincent, the most promising Zimbabwean young golfer of his era, carded 73, 70 and 66 for a total 209 after the three rounds. Vincent’s team managed 292-288-286 per each round to finish on total 866 points after the three rounds.

Alabama won the event on 831 points.
Vincent, who was in superb form, finished in fifth place, on the individual battle, out of the 65 players who took to the field.

Vincent was tied with college mate Mike Moyers and Eduardo Castiello of Oklahoma, who also did well.
Albrin Choi of New York won the individual event after securing 204 points.

Meanwhile, the Chapman A team of Joanna Munhemba, Heidi Schirmer, Melody Chinembiri and Linda O’Toole were crowned the 2013 Wingate Trophy champions after they finished on 577 points.

The event had 15 teams and Wingate women golf captain and Zimbabwe’s number one, Loice Chingono, proved that she is in her own class as she won the individual event.
