Vincent struggles in opening round

ZIMBABWE’S sole representative in the men’s golf event at the on-going 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, Scott Vincent, had an indifferent start in the opening round this morning as he finished on level-par at Kasumigaseki Country Club in Japan.

Vincent is part of the five players who are representing the country at this year’s Olympic |Games that also has Rower Peter Purcell-Gilpin, sprinter Ngoni Makusha, swimmers Peter Wetzlar and Donata Katai.

The Zimbabwean professional golfer had a good opening round where he finished on two-under but the second nine proved challenging as he dropped three shots.

Vincent is tied on position 50 going into today’s decisive round.

Australia’s Sepp Straka is on top of the leaderboard after he carded an impressive eight-under 63.
