Vincent to defend title

SCOTT Vincent is defending his Janney VCU Shoot-out title at the 6,955-yard, par 72 Manakin Course at Hermitage, Virginia, United States, where he teed off late last night.Now a senior at Virginia Tech, the golfer won the event last year by defeating teammate Bryce Chalkley by four strokes.

Vincent will play in the first position for the Hokies and is ranked 23rd in the current World Amateur Golf Rankings.

Vincent set a new Virginia Tech record with three individual tournament titles last season, including the VCU Shootout, and was the school’s first-ever first team All-American golfer last season.

Vincent’s classmate Trevor Cone will play in the second spot for Tech. He won two individual titles last season and is currently ranked 70th in the world and 30th on the college rankings.
