Vincent wins in Tennessee

SCOTT VINCENT shot a final round four-under-par 68 to win the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate at Blackthorn Club in the United States at the weekend. Vincent of Virginia Tech finished on 13-under-par 203. The tournament was played at the par 72, 7,147-yard Blackthorn Club at The Ridges in Johnson City, Tennessee.
The junior, from Harare, has won three of the four events the team has played in so far.

Vincent defeated Thomas Birdsey of Wake Forest and Denny McCarthy of Virginia by two strokes.
Vincent finished fourth in the only event he did not win.

At the Blackthorn Club Vincent carded rounds of 67-68-68.
Virginia Tech shot a 21-under-par 843 and finished in second place, one stroke behind Virginia.

Tech shot a 4-under-par 284 on Friday and followed with a 6-under-par 282 on Saturday.
The Hokies then posted an 11-under-par 277 on Sunday to finish with the 843.

The Cavaliers shot a final-round 13-under-par 275, finishing at 22-under-par 842.
They defeated Tech by one stroke and third place Kent State by two strokes.

All three teams are ranked in the top 20 nationally.
