THE Bulawayo Public Library has donated three computers to visually impaired pupils at St Bernard’s Primary School in Bulawayo’s Pumula suburb as part of efforts to enhance computer literacy among disadvantaged groups.
Bulawayo Public Library co-ordinator Mr Killion Dube said this was an on-going programme where they are targeting visually impaired pupils to acquire computer skills so that they are not left behind in the computer revolution. He said the organisation was touched by the challenges visually impaired pupils were facing in accessing Information Communication and Technology gadgets.
A total of 17 pupils are going to benefit from the computers where two will be for the pupils while one will be used in the boarding house. Mr Dube urged parents with children living with disabilities to support their children in all their endeavours and let them access computers.
