Volleyball Manicaland held their AGM two weeks ago where various districts presented their action plans for 2016 and also the commissioning of three match commissioners.
Manicaland volleyball chairman Farai Mboto said that they were aiming at developing volleyball in various districts.
“Our aim this year is to ensure that all teams get enough time to showcase the development of our game in their various districts.
We also want to start preparations for national events like inter provincials finals to be held in Mash East, Zim Open Club Championships to be held in Bulawayo. We also wish to send team to the national league this year.
These tournaments are vital since they expose talent and our provincial coaches will be able to select a team that will challenge for honours at the national events,” he added.
Mboto challenged other districts to work hard and ensure that volleyball is taken seriously so as to grow it.
“2016 has to be a year of action for us and Manicaland Volleyball can only grow if we continue to work hard from ward levels, district up to provincial level as what the minister of sports is currently advocating for,” he said.
