Volleyball teams in Games preps

BULAWAYO Metropolitan Province’s Zimbabwe National Youth Games volleyball teams   have   been   invited   to   participate in the Bulawayo Volleyball League as part of their preparations for the Games set for August. The boys’ team will take on Gweru’s Cats while the girls are set to play ZRP Raiders at Raylton Sports Club on Saturday.
Funny Ndlovu, an official from the Bulawayo Volleyball League said the National Youth Games teams have been slotted in the weekend programme and exciting matches have been lined up for the resumption of the league programme.

“Last weekend we had to postpone our fixtures because most of the players that are participating in the league were involved in tertiary games. It’s all systems go for us and volleyball enthusiasts must come in their number to watch some great games,” said Ndlovu.

Eight men’s games have been lined up with defending men’s champions Railstars set to play two matches against Highlanders and Cresta.
Railstars’ encounter against Highlanders is no doubt the match of the weekend and fireworks are expected.

Njanji will bank on their player/coach Qinisa Fuyana, former national team player Conrad Kupara, Patrick Mupira and Tawanda Makombe while Bosso’s hopes will be pinned on Brilliant Dube, Wellington Hwata and Ishmael Mlilo.

Youthful ZRP Raiders men’s squad which was formed at the beginning of the year and is coached by Vulindlela Moyo take on police counterparts Unit Fairbridge while Gwanda’s Izihlobo will play Cresta and Luvac.
