SECURITY services company Volsec Security Zimbabwe was last month awarded the Small to Medium Enterprises Service of the Year Award at the National Annual Quality Awards held in Harare.
The company received the award, maize seed from Seed Co and a certificate at the ceremony. The National Quality Awards Service of the Year event was hosted by the national certification body, Standards Association of Zimbabwe, on October 9.
Volsec quality assurance officer Mr Wellington Tauya said the award showed that they were a company with proficient quality services.
“We are happy with this award as it implies that we outclassed other local companies in this category.
“It is a tremendous achievement to us since we attained certification in October 2012,” he told the Herald Business.
The company attained ISO 9001-2008 certification in October last year.
Chairman for the adjudication committee Mr Petros Nobert Ndanga at the Naqa dinner expressed optimism that recipients of the awards would make the grade at the Sadc Quality Awards scheduled for later this year.
“The quality that was exhibited by the submissions we received from the winners certainly put them in a good position to come back home with awards from the Sadc Quality Awards that will be held later,” he said.
