ZANU-PF Politburo member, Cde Abedinico Ncube has called on party supporters to unite and vote in their numbers on August 23 to ensure a landslide victory for the revolutionary party.
He said a win for Zanu PF translates to continuity of the development trajectory under Second Republic and attainment of Vision 2030 inclined projects.
Cde Ncube, who is also the Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister, said the Second Republic under the stewardship of President Mnangagwa had covered a lot of ground in terms of implementing high impact projects in short space of time.
Some of major projects in the province include the US$300 million Beitbridge Border Post modernisation, the construction of a 5,1 km dual carriage way linking the port of entry and the major highway to Bulawayo and Harare, and the construction of 220 houses for border workers.
Others include the building of a new fire station and plant and quarantine centre in Beitbridge, the ongoing construction of the Tuli-Manyange Dam in Gwanda district, building of new clinics and schools across the province among other projects.
Addressing the party faithful yesterday during Zanu PF campaign rally in Penemene village in Ward 4 under Beitbridge East constituency, Cde Ncube said it is critical for all party structures, go out in full force and mobilise support for the party.
“It is very critical that you vote for Zanu PF which is a revolutionary party with people at heart and we will ensure that we continue on the national development trajectory which has been set by President Mnangagwa, as we drift towards attaining the envisaged Vision 2030,” he said.
Cde Ncube said the revolutionary party is tried and tested and now stronger than before.
He also lauded President Mnangagwa for initiating a programme to expeditiously process title deeds for urban dwellers across the country.
“We are done with primary elections and it’s time for us to unite and consolidate our power on the ground so that there is continuity in the ongoing projects being implemented by the Second Republic,” said Cde Ncube.
“There are a lot of major projects across the country which Government has been rolling out and we have made good progress in that regard.”
Cde Ncube commended the Beitbridge community for not abandoning Zanu PF during and after the country’s protracted liberation struggle.
Beitbridge East legislator and candidate, Cde Albert Nguluvhe said Zimbabweans should vote for Zanu-PF candidates to ensure effective service delivery in the three spheres of Government.
“We need to vote for Zanu-PF which has already set the tone for Zimbabwe’s transformation. Under President Mnangagwa’s leadership, we will continue to bring back people-centered service delivery. Let’s encourage every registered voter to cast their votes in favour of our candidates,” he said.
Cde Tambudzani Mohadi who seeks to be retained as Senator for Beitbridge, said Zanu-PF is the vanguard of the country’s founding values and urged people to rally behind the party in their numbers.
“Unity and cooperation was very critical for the party to win elections. I also want to advise our supporters that they must not be divided or be confused by the delimitation boundaries. They must vote for our party and its candidates so that we win with a huge margin on August 23,” she said.
