BULAWAYO  Chiefs FC coach Joseph Sibindi, who was barred from sitting on the bench last week, is a relieved man after the Premier Soccer League licensed him.

Last week Sibindi did not have the right credentials to sit on the bench.

Negotiations between PSL and Chiefs officials which reportedly started before the start of the match were not fruitful as Sibindi was asked to watch the game from the stands.

Interestingly, at their club’s weekly press conference held at Bulawayo Chiefs Village yesterday at 12pm, Sibindi had cast doubt that he was going to get his licence.

“I’m not sure if I’m going to get my licence. As of yesterday (Wednesday) my licence was yet to be printed by PSL. Against such, I’m not anticipating getting one,” said the dejected coach.

About 20 minutes after the presser Bulawayo Chiefs spokesperson Thulani “Javas” Sibanda advised that the PSL had authorised Sibindi to sit on the bench.

“We are happy that his licence has been sent. However, he is yet to lay his hands on it. We are looking forward to seeing him sit on the team’s technical bench again when we face Manica Diamonds,” said Sibanda.

Sibindi, who interestingly was on the bench in Bulawayo Chief’s two wins in a row against Caps United and Triangle, said his boys were ready to face Manica Diamonds. “We will not take it as a big match. It is just like any other match that we will play after losing to Herentals.” — @FungaiMuderere
