Voting Zanu-PF will bring back sanity in councils: Former Mayor

Victoria Falls Reporter
OUTGOING Victoria Falls Mayor Alderman Nkosilathi Jiyane has called on residents to vote for Zanu-PF councillors in the forthcoming harmonised elections to bring back sanity in the council that was dominated by MDC-T. In an interview on Monday, Ald Jiyane said it was high time the revolutionary party regained control of the town for the betterment of the residents.
“Now that council has been dissolved I am going to put everything I have to campaign for Zanu-PF so that it wins resoundingly in the forthcoming elections.

“It is high time Zanu-PF takes control of this town,” he said.
Ald Jiyane who has served the municipality for 12 years said voting for Zanu-PF was the only way of  bringing back sanity in the council that was being dominated by MDC-T.

“Having quit that party (MDC-T) and joined the revolutionary party, we recorded a lot of progress in the municipality and if the electorate was to vote Zanu-PF all the way, the country will be back on the development path, ” he said.

Ald Jiyane said he was leaving council a satisfied man.
“I pride in myself for having been at the helm of the municipality when it finally transformed after I joined Zanu-PF. Now the resort town is a better place with a good road infrastructure, good water and sewer reticulation system among other positive developments,” he said.

Ald Jiyane who narrowly lost to Cde Patrick Utete in the primaries for the provincial council said he was not yet done with politics.
He said his goal right now was campaigning for Zanu-PF and would take whatever position that comes his way in the party.

“I am now Zanu-PF all the way and will do everything to see to it that the party wins. I would also like to thank my family, my pastors, church members, entire council and staff members and the Zanu-PF leadership, which saw leadership qualities in me and recruited me,” said Ald Jiyane.
