When Voxie performed her original track “I Am Free”, it resonated through the Kingdom Empowerment Centre (KEC) auditorium, marking her powerful transition from a backup vocalist to a rising solo artiste.
This was her moment to shine, stepping into the spotlight with the support of award-winning gospel singer Mai Mwamuka, who stood by her side like a mentor, proudly introducing her to the world.
The concert held recently, attracted gospel music lovers eager to witness Voxie’s potential as an emerging talent in the city. Despite electricity load shedding, Voxie and her vibrant backing vocalists didn’t falter, proving their resilience and skill by continuing with a stunning a cappella performance that wowed the audience.
Performances from Mai Mwamuka, Larry Spear, Luketso, and Baba Walle further highlighted Voxie’s vocal strength, reinforcing her as a powerful new voice in the gospel music scene.

Speaking to Chronicle Showbiz Online after the show, Voxie expressed her gratitude and excitement about the concert’s success.
“The concert was a success. I’m happy that people from different backgrounds and cultures came together to give praise to God in one room. The greatest moment for me was seeing how my own composed songs touched the audience, and how my choir continued without instruments during the power cut, singing a cappella. It was a blessing, and the audience appreciated our determination,” she said.
Voxie added that the experience taught her a valuable lesson: “As an artiste, things may go wrong, but you have to stay composed, be strong, and fulfill the assignment.”
She expressed heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported her journey: “I want to thank my family, friends who worked tirelessly to bring this concert to life, and my sponsors. Special thanks to my manager, Mrs Akujobi, for her unwavering support. I’m also grateful to the people of Bulawayo for their patience during the load shedding and to Mai Mwamuka, Prophet and Prophetess Edwards for honouring the event amidst their busy schedules.”
