Vice President Kembo Mohadi has arrived here for the Second Indonesia-Africa Forum and the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnership, aimed at strengthen economic relations between the Southeast Asian country and Africa.
He touched down at the Ngurah Rai International Airport shortly after 11am (5am Zimbabwean time).
The VP was received by Indonesia’s Ambassador to Zimbabwe, Dewa Sastrawan and Zimbabwe’s Ambassador-designate to Indonesia Martin Makururu.
He was accompanied by Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Minister Monica Mutsvangwa.
VP Mohadi is here to lead Zimbabwe’s delegation at the Second Indonesia-Africa Forum and the High-Level Forum on Multi-Stakeholder Partnership.
The conferences run from tomorrow ending on September 3.
Over 1 500 people are set to attend the conferences.
In an interview after arrival, VP Mohadi said Zimbabwe expects to exchange notes with Indonesia and other African countries.
Where possible, Memoranda of Understanding would be signed, especially in areas such as tourism, pharmaceuticals and even lithium.
Other leaders expected at the conferences include Presidents Paul Kagame of Rwanda, Joseph Nyuma Boakai of Liberia, Nana Akufo-Addo of Ghana and Dr Hussein Ali Mwinyi President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council.
Prime Ministers Russell Mmiso Dlamini of Eswatini and Xanana Gusmao of the Democratic Republic of Timor Leste, and representatives from Uganda, DRC, Kenya, Egypt, Cameroon, Sudan, Angola, Namibia, among others, are expected to attend.
