VP Mohadi back home from Namibia

Vice President Kembo Mohadi is back home from Namibia where he was representing President Mnangagwa during the Unicef World Children’s Day commemorations.

The commemorations were held last night at NamPort in Walvis Bay.

Speaking after touching down at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport shortly after midday, VP Mohadi described the event as a success.

He said he now looks forward to Zimbabwe hosting the commemorations next year.

The event was attended host President Hage Geingob, Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi. Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema was represented by Minister of Community Development and Social Services Doreen Mwamba.

Speakers praised the four countries for coming together in the fight to protect children’s rights.

South African songstress Yvonne Chaka Chaka, who entertained delegates, said she would be glad to have her country in the group that has Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia.

In remarks delivered by VP Mohadi last night, President Mnangagwa said joint regional celebrations of the World Children’s Day were a source of innovation and inspiration, demonstrating what is possible when the community, political leadership and young people come together.
