Vice President Kembo Mohadi has joined President Mnangagwa and the nation in mourning the death of national hero Archbishop Ernest Paul Mamvura Mwazha.
He died on November 20, at the age of 107.
In a statement through his Chief-of-Staff Dr Clever Chirume yesterday, VP Mohadi expressed sadness over the death of Archbishop Mwazha but noted he was “delighted that VaMwazha had lived his life dedicated to Christianity.”
“VaMwazha loved his country and was proud to be Zimbabwean. He belonged to the rare breed of youngsters who embraced Christianity from a Zimbabwean perspective, immediately making a huge impact and seeing his denomination grow internationally,” said the VP.
He added that through the demise of Archbishop Mwazha, the nation has “lost such a giant who can never be replaced. VaMwazha was a peace broker, a unifier, and indeed a true prophet. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” said VP Mohadi.
Archbishop Mwazha was the founder of the African Apostolic Church and contributed immensely to the country’s spiritual sovereignty through his unwavering faith, lifelong dedication to uplifting communities, and guiding the nation toward moral renewal and unity.
