VP Mujuru hands over 2 laptops

from Goldridge College in Kwekwe, have since received their bursaries.

VP Mujuru pledged the bursaries and laptops to the two children after learning of their exceptional educational capabilities while they were still at Eiffel Flats Primary School.

The two had also showed immense knowledge of the country’s history during the official opening of a memorial block at Eiffel Park Primary School which was presided over by Media, Information and Publicity Minister Webster Shamu on behalf of VP Mujuru last year.

Mrs Ntombizodwa Sibanda, Kudzwaishe’s house parent at Watershed College, commended her for exhibiting zeal towards the country’s history.

“Kudzwaishe shows that she researches beyond the classroom. She also has tremendous interest in history, is industrious and an outstanding high flier. It is good to tell children what Zimbabwe is about so that they know their culture, economy, and achievements both in the post and pre-colonial era,” she said.

She said knowledge of one’s history was important in reinforcing their identity.

“As a school we also teach African history and we have since covered topics defining what history is with Form 1. It tells them the importance of history in the knowledge of one’s identity and belonging,” she said.

Kudzwaishe said she managed to answer questions on President Mugabe among other things pertaining to the country’s history. Headmistress at Watershed College Mrs Angela Charidza, thanked VP Mujuru for her faithfulness.
