The motion was moved by Zvishavane Runde MP Cde Larry Mavhima (Zanu-PF) who called upon the House to celebrate the life of VP Nkomo whom he said rendered sterling services to the nation both before and after independence
Mhondoro Ngezi MP Cde Bright Matonga (Zanu-PF) said, “That is the kind of respect people had on Vice President Nkomo. He was not Ndebele, Kalanga, Shona but was Zimbabwe first and foremost,” said Cde Matonga.
Magwegwe MP Mr Felix Magalela Sibanda (MDC-T) described the VP as “a hero of heroes”. Uzumba MP Cde Simba Mudarikwa (Zanu-PF) said Zimbabwe was established because of the sterling work done by people like VP Nkomo.
