Vuka Plumtree 2022 song out on Sunday

THE 2022 version of the track Vuka Plumtree is set to be released on Sunday as artistes from the border town continue to unite in lobbying for the recognition of their art.

Vuka Plumtree is a track meant to uplift and unite artistes from the border town. It came about after Plumtree-based arts promoter, Handsome “Handy” Sibanda saw the success and power of Vusa Mkhaya’s unification track, Masiyephambili aimed at uniting artistes from Bulawayo.

The project, Handy said, is a fusion of Afro-pop, poetry, and hip-hop.

“Following the huge success of the Vuka Plumtree 2021 song, I together with the artistes decided to work on the 2022 version. If all things work well, we’ll do the song every year.

“The song aims to promote our beautiful town of Plumtree and showcase its beauty through song and poetry. All artistes who participated in last year’s version are featured again and these Tsibi, RS, Teekay Mxoecic, Ice Eazy, Croft BRK, C4, Demoe Rose, TWT and poet Thabo J Nkomo,” said Handy.

He said if resources permit, they will also work on recording visuals for the song. – @mthabisi_mthire
