Vumbachikwe eye top four slot

VUMBACHIKWE welcome asbestos miners Gaths Mine hoping to notch another win on the trot in a Zifa Central Soccer League fixture at Gaths Mine Stadium. Last weekend, the Gwanda based gold miners were in Gweru where they managed a 1-0 win against correctional services side Hwahwa a result which catapulted them to the top five on the log standings.
A win against Gaths Mine who are still smarting from a 1-0 loss to Chapungu under controversial circumstances will see Vumbachikwe storming in the top four depending on the outcome of the match pitting runaway leaders Chapungu and Silo United.

Vumbachikwe secretary Tofara Sibanda said his side has given up hope of winning the championship and are now concentrating on finishing among the top four and rebuilding a team to challenge for honours next season.  On the other hand Gaths Mine, who had a bright start to the season before faltering along the way, are also targeting the top four and the encounter today promises to be a bruising battle.
Elsewhere, Chapungu have an easy assignment against Silo United at Ascot in a match the airmen are expected to easily steamroll past the Kwekwe outfit.

MSU who have been on a free fall in recent matches face another tricky tie when they travel to Zvishavane for a date with FC Platinum Under-19 in a match the varsity students coach, Godfrey Chuchu, will pray to come out with maximum points to keep his job safe.
Bruised Chrome Stars who saw their home record go up in smoke when they were clobbered 3-1 by Town United play Tongogara at Amaveni in a Kwekwe derby while high-flying Town United welcome struggling Jessie Mine at Dulibadzimu where they hope to continue their unbeaten run to six matches under the tutelage of John Phiri.
