Vundla wins Elephant hills tourney

THEMBELANI Vundla proved a cut above the rest when he won the Elephant Hills Open in Victoria Falls at the weekend.
Vundhla had decent rounds of 70, 72, 72 and 70 for a total four-under-par 284.Brian Gondo finished second after his round of 76, 75, 71 and 73 for a seven-over par 295.

Another Bulawayo professional, Peter Banda, finished third after rounds of 79, 75, 76 and 76.

The ever-improving Stephen Simukai on 311, Phillip on 311 and Josephat Phiri took the other top places.

Meanwhile, the Zimbabwe amateur golf team’s trip to the World Junior Golf Championships is hanging in the balance.

The tournament is expected to begin on September 9.
