Vybz Kartel returns to court

Evidence Act.

Prosecutors filed the motion yesterday after  their key witness refused to co-operate and may be in hiding.
Vybz Kartel and his co-accused lawyers are expected to challenge the prosecution motion.

Vybz Kartel is on trial for the murder of St Catherine businessman/promoter Barrington “Bossie” Burton.
Nigel Thompson and Lenburgh McDonald are all charged with Burton’s murder.

Detectives say Burton was shot and killed on  July 12, 2011 while standing with a group of friends along Walkers Avenue in Gregory Park, St Catherine.
Vybz Kartel supporters gathered outside the court shouting “Free Worl’Boss”.

The judge has asked the jury to be absent from court until next Tuesday. During that time Justice Sykes will hear arguments from both prosecution and defence regarding a motion to have a witness statement entered into evidence. — Urban Islandz.
