FIREWORKS are expected when the quarter-finals of the Communications League WAFA-WAFA tournament explode into life at two venues in Harare tomorrow morning.
The eight teams — Fantracker, Dairibord, Tendo, Universal, Dandaro, Benhaz, Towers and Willdale — emerged triumphant during the first round matches held last weekend.
The WAFA-WAFA tournament is one of the biggest social football knockout tournaments in Harare.
It brings together some of the best players in the social media trenches and the majority of the matches are usually closely fought.
Unlike other social football tournaments, the commitment to discipline at the WAFA-WAFA tournament is not negotiable.
Three of the games will be played at Alex Sports Club tomorrow morning and will all get underway at 10.15am.
Fantracker will take on Dairibord, Tendo will battle Universal and Dandaro have a date against Bengaz.
The only match at Prince Edward School will feature Towers against Willdale.
“The quarter-finals are likely to be explosive,” said one of the organisers.
“The stakes are very high and we expect all the teams to come out with their A-game.
“We had a lot of fun and competitive matches last weekend and we actually expect the matches this weekend to go a notch higher in terms of quality.”
